Bass

Truly North American Fish
They come in two flavours: Smallmouth Bass (Micropterus dolomieu)
and Largemouth Bass (Micropterus salmoides). The smallmouth prefers
cooler water temperatures than its cousin the largemouth bass, and
may be found in both still and moving water. They are some of the
most exciting of all fish to catch, and are abundant in the lakes
and river systems of Canada. Bass average 3 - 6lbs (1.5kg - 3kg) and
10 lbs (4.5 kg) trophies have been caught in the lakes you will be
fishing.
Fishing for Bass
Live or artificial baits both work well - nightcrawlers seem to work particularly well as do tube jigs and small spinner baits. They will take flies too. As ambush predators, bass need cover to feed successfully so casting accuracy and presentation are key elements to consider when fishing for them. Ferocious fighters, they will provide a challenge even for experienced anglers
